The Jewish Home and Care Center is a non-profit group in the senior living industry. As part of Ovation Communities, we have been serving the people of the Greater Milwaukee area for over 100 years. These services are achieved through a team-work philosophy that is inspired through effective organizational skills, continuous quality improvement efforts and maintaining a balance between professionalism and the ability to have fun.

Primary Purpose of Position:

Dietary aides are responsible for providing food service to residents under sanitary conditions and for providing assistance is all dietary fucntions as directed and in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures.

Job Duties:

  • Provides customer service that enhances the dining experience for the residents and guests
  • Sets up dining rooms prior to meal time
  • Fills and re-stocks various, food, condiments and supplies, either in the kitchen or in the dining areas
  • Greets and assists in seating the residents and guests
  • Waits on tables, using proper service techniques
  • Removes plates and other items from the table as needed
  • Continuously cleans food service work areas
  • Uses food supplies and equipment in an efficient and economic manner to prevent waste
  • Transports food to other dining areas
  • Assists with dish washing as needed
  • Ensures that food handling procedures are in accordance with sanitation policies of the facility and the State and Federal regulatory agencies

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience:

Previous wait person experience preferred


Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Proficiency in written and spoken English

Ability to work as part of a team

Ability to manage multiple projects.
