Job Summary:

The AI Security Architect role is essential for leading architecture activities that support business models and technology investments, specializing in artificial intelligence to enhance security and compliance within the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Create deliverables that illustrate how to strategically move the business forward.
• Define and maintain AI security reference architectures, design patterns, and standards covering data ingestion, model training, deployment, inference, and monitoring
• Establish AI security governance frameworks, guardrails, and risk management practices aligned with enterprise security architecture and compliance requirements
• Ensure secure use of generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and third‑party AI services through policy, technical controls, and architectural review
• Drive greater usage of AI within security team to improve posture and operations
• Create new ML/AI use cases to include AgenticAI and drive to execution within security and cloud operations
• Conduct AI‑specific threat modeling and risk assessments, including risks related to data poisoning, adversarial attacks, model theft, prompt injection, and unauthorized model usage
• Define mitigations and compensating controls for identified risks across cloud, application, API, and data layers
• Partner with detection and response teams to design monitoring and logging for AI systems
• Engage key business stakeholders to facilitate both strategy and innovation planning.
• Review and approve AI solution designs to ensure alignment with security, privacy, and resilience requirements
• Design controls for secure data pipelines, secure model storage, controlled model access, and protected inference endpoints
• Guide development teams on secure coding, API security, identity and access management, and secrets management for AI workloads
• Collaborate with legal, privacy, and compliance teams to ensure AI solutions meet regulatory and internal policy obligations
• Support audits, risk reviews, and control assessments related to AI systems
• Contribute to responsible AI practices by integrating security, privacy, and risk considerations into enterprise AI standards
• Develop, motivate and direct staff to create a team environment, and enable staff to fulfill the line-of-business (LOB) or business unit (BU) partners operating objectives
• Act as a security subject‑matter expert for AI initiatives across the organization
• Translate complex AI security risks into clear business and executive‑level guidance
• Mentor engineers and architects on AI security best practices and emerging threats
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, information systems or related discipline, or equivalent and extensive related project experience; Master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience as an architect, with at least 3 years experience in artificial intelligence and generative AI.
• 5+ years of business or IT experience with a direct responsibility for strategy formulation and/or translation, business analytics, and program management, application development, middleware, database management or operations.
• Expert level experience in one or more of the following areas: strategic planning, leadership, business relationship management and business process management.
• Expert level knowledge and understanding of different types of business and operating models (existing, new, emerging and hybrid).
• Expert level knowledge of existing, new and emerging technologies and being able to apply them to new business designs and business models.
• Expert level in-depth experience with business transformation and process redesign methods.
• Expert level knowledge in all aspects of designing and constructing business processes, functions and organizational structures.
• Expert level knowledge of facilitation and organization change management.
• Expert level analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of programs and projects.
• Expert level experience leading multi-disciplined, high-performance work teams.
• Expert level skills in leading program management efforts involving the coordination of resources and goals across multiple related projects.
• Expert level experience developing and monitoring delivery of efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.
• Expert level knowledge of finance, accounting, valuation and metrics development.
• Expert level statistical and information analysis skills (a plus).
• Practical ability to communicate, influence and persuade – business and IT leaders as well as peers.
• Use the language of business leaders and join the conversation that's taking place.
