Ai Program information

What is an AI program?

AI programs are software applications designed to simulate human intelligence processes such as learning, reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making. They use algorithms, data, and computational power to perform tasks that typically require human intelligence, including language understanding, image recognition, and decision automation. AI programs can be found in various industries, powering technologies like virtual assistants, recommendation systems, and automated customer service. Their capabilities are continually evolving as advancements in machine learning and data processing occur.

What are some typical challenges faced by professionals working in AI program management, and how can they overcome them?

Professionals in AI program management often face challenges such as ensuring effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, managing rapidly evolving project requirements, and staying updated with the latest advancements in AI technologies. To overcome these hurdles, successful AI program managers focus on fostering collaborative team environments, maintaining flexible project plans, and continuously investing in professional development. Regularly aligning goals with stakeholders and encouraging cross-functional learning are also key strategies for managing complexity and driving project success.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an AI program manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an AI Program Manager, you need a solid background in computer science, project management, and a strong understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, often supported by a relevant degree and certifications like PMP or Agile. Familiarity with technical tools such as JIRA, Python, machine learning frameworks, and cloud platforms is typically required. Outstanding communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills help drive cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations. These abilities are essential for successfully delivering AI projects that meet organizational goals and adapt to rapidly evolving technologies.

What is the difference between Ai Program vs Data Scientist?

Work EnvironmentTech companies, AI startups, research labs; often collaborative and project-basedBusiness, finance, healthcare sectors; analytical and research-focused
Employer & Industry UsageDeveloping AI models, algorithms, and applicationsAnalyzing data, building predictive models, deriving insights

While both roles require knowledge of machine learning and programming, Ai Programs focus on developing AI systems and algorithms, whereas Data Scientists analyze data to inform business decisions. The roles often overlap but serve different primary functions within tech and data-driven industries.

What careers can I get in AI?

Careers in AI include roles such as AI engineer, machine learning engineer, data scientist, AI researcher, and NLP specialist. These positions typically require skills in programming, data analysis, and knowledge of AI frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch, often supported by relevant certifications or advanced degrees.

Job description

About The Position

The Sr. Principal Technical Program Manager is a systems-thinker who translates ambitious company goals into a highly structured "System View" to drive major outcomes. You will be the engine of execution. You will operationalize frameworks on the ground, manage complex concurrent programs, and lead execution to ensure timely delivery of outcomes. Crucially, as we scale our AI initiatives, this role demands a forward-thinking leader who actively leverages AI and Agentic workflows in their daily program architecture and successfully navigates the unique pacing and unpredictability of AI-driven development.

What You'll Do

  • Manage multiple concurrent programs varying in size and complexity, maintaining objective oversight while demonstrating a deep passion for the program's success.
  • Ensure every program aligns to a strict Program Playbook-meaning the technical capability is successfully delivered and the targeted outcomes are fully realized.
  • Establish a consistent execution rhythm and rituals to force decision-making, remove blockers, and clarify ownership.
  • Act as an "information radiator," utilizing clear reporting systems to communicate delivery health, milestone tracking, and look-ahead risk analysis to leadership.
  • Integrate AI seamlessly into your program management workflows, such as utilizing AI and agentic tools to automate RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions) logs and synthesize status updates into concise executive summaries.
  • Govern the inherent unpredictability of AI development, adapting traditional program management to account for experimentation.
  • Maintain a centralized Work Surface (e.g., Jira, Confluence) as the ultimate hub for tracking initiative status, critical paths, and dependencies.
  • Identify and overcome delivery roadblocks in a complex environment, escalating risks quickly and effectively.

What We're Looking For:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in SaaS product development, program management, and release management.
  • Direct experience with AI-driven development lifecycles and utilizing AI/Agentic workflows to optimize program management architectures.
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related technical field.
  • Proven ability to earn trust quickly, mobilize teams, and set direction in highly ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to deliver tough messages with grace, resolve conflict, and adapt to change rapidly.
  • Experience and familiarity with industry-standard project management software (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Google Suite).

Preferred Requirements:

  • Deep proficiency in the rapidly evolving AI landscape (LLMs, generative AI, agentic frameworks) with a demonstrated ability to integrate these capabilities into practical, future-proof program management strategies.
  • Effective presenter, negotiator, and collaborator who can communicate with clarity and precision at all levels of the organization.
  • A strategic mindset equally passionate about business outcomes and deep technology.

The annual gross base salary range for this position is $176,000 - $221,000 ย plus variable compensation.

We will consider for employment all qualified applicants, including those with arrest records, conviction records, or other criminal histories, in a manner consistent with the requirements of any applicable state and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, and the New York City Fair Chance Act.
