The Role:

As Technical Program Manager at AMD you will use your technical expertise and passion for operational discipline to lead complex Data Center CPU and Enterprise AI programs from Concept to Mass Production. Working with stakeholders across Engineering, Business Development, Product Management and Supply Chain you will plan requirements and manage execution schedules, budgets and risks.

The Person:
You are a proven leader, be able create and maintain a working cross functional team and manage in a matrixed environment. You are equally comfortable explaining status and recommendations to senior executives as you are discussing technical aspects in product development with engineers. You must have exceptional verbal, as well as written, communication skills. In addition, the role requires outstanding people management skills to lead, motivate, and guide world class engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with key leaders across engineering, business and operations to lead end-to-end execution of next generation Data Center CPUs and GPUs from Concept to Mass Production using AMD’s New Product Introduction Management flow.
  • No excuses attitude to own a product from start-to-finish driving whole product execution – Silicon, System, Software.
  • Relentless drive for operational discipline – automation, analytics and process improvement to achieve productivity gains
  • Capability to ruthlessly prioritize and clear obstacles for the team.
  • Lead technical debug & feature prioritization, schedule alignment and budget attainment
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines

Preferred Experience:

  • Multiple and recent years of progressive experience in new product development from a design, platform, product and/or program management discipline.
  • Experience as a Technical Program Lead of Data Center CPUs or GPUs to assess tradeoffs between program and technical challenges.
  • Technical expertise gained through High-Performance product execution in one or more of the following areas:
    • High Performance Design – CPU/GPU
    • Test and Product engineering
    • Validation – electrical or functional validation
    • System Architecture
    • Technical expertise should have been gained over at least 5-6 SoC/Products preferably in the latest process nodes
  • Experience with driving a multi-site and multi-disciplined engineering program.
  • Thrives in “responsibility without line authority” leadership – Role will not have direct reports but will be responsible to deliver a multi-billion dollar product driving execution through a highly matrixed organization
  • Precise, direct communication tailored to the audience.
  • AI-Powered program management tools to draw engineering or product insights.
  • Evaluated and rolled out AI productivity tools to drive engineering velocity.
  • Ability to structure and execute complex analysis, draw insights, and communicate summary findings/recommendations to senior management and AMD customers
  • Ability to network, build relationships, and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization

Academic Credentials:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
