Job Summary

The Institute of Cognitive Science (ICS) at the University of Colorado Boulder anticipates hiring a full-time Growth and Community Lead to support the scaling of our AI for education products. In this position, you will work closely with the leadership team to create and identify opportunities to bring our products into classrooms and districts, and engage in activities to help support the implementation of our products at scale.

CU is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment. We are committed to creating a workplace where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, and we encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
Who We Are

The work will be done within a vibrant and world-class research and development environment at the Institute of Cognitive Science (ICS; www.colorado.edu/ics). We foster rich scientific interchange across researchers from Artificial Intelligence, Psychology, Computer Science, and Education.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
  • Grassroots Digital Growth & Community Architecture: Design and manage digital awareness campaigns, webinars, and conferences to drive direct-to-teacher adoption. Cultivate our user base to identify power users, ultimately recruiting and managing these educators to become Local Ambassadors.
  • District Partnerships & Outreach: Lead the district adoption strategy. Identify target districts, initiate strategic outreach, conduct highly persuasive demos with administrators, and navigate the district IT/privacy approval process by clearly communicating our privacy-first AI philosophy.
  • System Automation & Growth Operations: Build and manage the systems that turn interest into adoption, including our contact pipeline, outreach and email campaigns for both teachers and school leaders. Track what's working including onboarding of educators and active engagement, and use the data to keep improving.
  • Marketing Content & Brand Storytelling: Lead the creation of external-facing marketing and research dissemination content. Capture "magic moments" from our pilot classrooms and translate them into compelling case studies, digital campaigns, newsletter sequences, and whitepapers that highlight the impact and value of our work.
  • Surge Activation & Classroom Connection: While the primary focus is responsible and sustainable scale, you will step in to support high-touch early adoption (1:1 technical onboarding clinics) as needed to eliminate friction for pilot teachers, ensuring you keep the pulse of the K-12 classroom.
What You Should Know
  • This is a 1 to 3 year grant-funded position. The initial contract is for one year pending a six-month probationary period.
  • Preferred start date: June 2026.
  • Hybrid work schedule: Preference to those located in or willing to relocate to the Boulder/Denver Metro area.
What We Can Offer
  • Salary range: $65,000 to $75,000 based on experience and qualifications.
  • Full benefits including medical, dental, retirement, paid time off, tuition benefit, and ECO Pass.
Benefits

At the University of Colorado Boulder, we are committed to supporting the holistic health and well-being of our employees. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and retirement plans; generous paid time off; tuition assistance for you and your dependents; and an ECO Pass for local transit. As one of Boulder County's largest employers, CU Boulder offers an inspiring academic community and access to world-class outdoor recreation. • Philosophical Champion: A deep belief that technology should empower human connection. Passion for shifting the national narrative around AI in K-12 education.
  • Outreach & Automation Experience: Experience in Customer Relationship Management, writing persuasive marketing copy, running digital campaigns, and using data to adjust strategy.
  • K-12 Credibility: Experience in K-12 education (teacher, coach, or admin) with the ability to speak the language of the classroom authentically.
  • Systems Orientation: You document and automate recurring tasks so problems never have to be solved twice.
