RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Architect in Spring, TX.
Details:
* Department: Enterprise Architecture
* Reports To: Director, Enterprise Architecture
* Location: United States/Hybrid
* Status: Contract
Summary:
We are seeking a Data Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture team. This role is responsible for defining and advancing enterprise data architecture standards, models, and roadmaps that support business strategy, digital transformation, analytics, and governance needs.
The Data Architect will partner with business and technology teams to design scalable, secure, and high-quality data solutions, with a strong focus on the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. This role will help guide data platform modernization, integration patterns, governance practices, and enterprise data design across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
* Define and maintain enterprise data architecture principles, standards, and target-state roadmaps
* Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned to business and technology needs
* Design and guide architecture for Azure-based data platforms and services
* Establish standards for data integration, ETL/ELT, APIs, event-driven data flows, and interoperability across systems
* Partner with stakeholders to improve data governance, metadata management, data quality, and lineage
* Ensure data architecture aligns with cybersecurity, privacy, compliance, retention, and resilience requirements
* Participate in architecture reviews and provide guidance to project, application, and engineering teams
* Evaluate new data technologies and recommend scalable, cost-effective solutions aligned with enterprise strategy
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
* 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related technology roles
* 3+ years of experience designing cloud-based data solutions in Microsoft Azure
* Strong experience with enterprise data modeling, data integration, and information architecture
* Hands-on knowledge of Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, and Microsoft Purview
* Understanding of data governance, metadata, lineage, data quality, and master data concepts
* Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and business stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree in a related field
* Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, and Power BI architecture
* Familiarity with TOGAF or other enterprise architecture frameworks
* Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Data Engineer Associate
* Experience in large, complex, or regulated enterprise environments

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
