Job description

NOTE: This is a 1-year, Fixed-Term position.

Are you a senior analyst who is fluent in how modern AI gets built and adopted? Join Stanford’s Enterprise Technology team (AI Catalyst) as the connective tissue between business stakeholders and the engineering teams delivering enterprise AI. You will shape and document requirements for AI and GenAI initiatives, translate ambiguous business needs into clear, buildable specifications, and help drive delivery across the rollout of enterprise platforms (Claude, OpenAI/ChatGPT Enterprise, Gemini) and a portfolio of high-stakes AI applications.

This is a senior, applied business analysis role. You will not build models, but you will understand AI concepts deeply enough to scope feasible use cases, set realistic expectations, write strong requirements, and guide solutions through delivery, testing, and adoption.

Approved budgeted annual salary for this role: $156,505 - $183,920

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Enterprise AI Delivery:Experience delivering AI/GenAI projects in a large, complex organization, ideally including platform rollouts and adoption efforts.
  • AI Quality & Governance:Familiarity with prompt engineering, evaluation of AI outputs (rubrics, accuracy/quality, hallucination checks), and AI guardrails, privacy, and governance practices.
  • Agentic & Interoperability Awareness:Awareness of agent interoperability standards (e.g., A2A) and MCP-based integrations between AI agents and enterprise tools.
  • Agile & BA Tooling:Experience with Agile/Scrum and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheet.
  • Process & Data Skills:Process mapping (e.g., BPMN) and comfort with data analysis (SQL, dashboards) to support decisions.
  • Change & Training:Experience with change management, user enablement, and training program design.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Management:Coordinating across multiple stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Higher Education Context:Experience in higher education or similarly complex, decentralized environments.
