Job description

Looking for a company that values your skills, respects your contributions, and gives you the tools to thrive?
With more than 145 years as a family-owned business, we've built a reputation as one of the best mechanical and fire protection contractors in the country. We pride ourselves on delivering unmatched quality and innovation while providing you with job stability, opportunities for career progression, and support. We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Construction Project Manager located in La Crosse, WI.
How You Will Contribute
As a Project Manager, you will manage commercial and industrial plumbing and HVAC construction projects ranging from $1M to $10M in scope. You will maintain accurate labor projections and produce reliable forecasts of project financial performance while actively managing work through all phases of execution. You will meet regularly with management to review project status, schedules, and key milestones, and participate in turnover meetings to ensure seamless transitions from preconstruction to execution and closeout.
You will collaborate closely with engineers, field leadership, suppliers, and other subcontractors to coordinate installation activities and drive successful project outcomes. This role assumes an active, hands-on approach to project management, influencing the financial performance of regional work while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality expectations. You will also support customer follow-up as needed and benefit from a unified team structure, receiving collaborative support from Purchasing, Drafting, and Collections, reinforcing Ahern's team-oriented approach to project delivery.
What you need to qualify:
Ahern will make the most out of your prior construction project management or sales experience with plumbing and HVAC related projects.
