Overview
LMI is seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Engineering and Development Specialist to provide continuous Information Technology (IT) systems engineering and development support aligned with Integrated Product Support (IPS) services for the Apache Attack Helicopter (AAH) Project Office (PO). This role supports the engineering and development of IT systems necessary for mission-critical lifecycle operations of AH-64 Apache platforms and associated systems.
Serving both the United States Army (USA) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) stakeholders, this position ensures weapon system information assurance is maintained, IT systems are securely integrated, and mission readiness objectives are achieved across the lifecycle. The IT Systems Engineering and Development Specialist will work closely with the Product Manager and Product Support Manager to deliver innovative and highly effective solutions for engineering, development, and sustainment of mission-critical IT systems.

Responsibilities
Engineering and Development Support:
  • Support the Product Manager and Product Support Manager in the engineering and development processes of IT systems for weapon systems lifecycle sustainment.
  • Evaluate and provide input regarding Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) integration and delivery to training devices, mission systems, and field operations.

Mission-Critical Recommendations:
  • Deliver expert advice and recommendations regarding IT system development, integration, configuration, and compatibility with mission-critical operational goals.
  • Recommend technical solutions for improving overall system reliability, usability, and availability for lifecycle sustainment tasks.

Information Assurance:
  • Manage and oversee weapon system information assurance (IA) across the lifecycle, ensuring compliance with Army and DoD security policies.
  • Ensure proper Communications Security (COMSEC) software deployment across AH-64 hardware platforms and configurations.

Lifecycle Management:
  • Identify, plan, and recommend continuous IT system solutions for facilities, hardware, software, documentation, manpower, and personnel systems supporting lifecycle mission operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize IT systems engineering methods while meeting system performance metrics.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Expertise:
  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of professional relevant experience, with at least 2+ years working with Systems Engineering, automation, or intelligent systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in IT systems engineering and development processes, particularly for lifecycle planning and hardware/software integration in defense or military platforms.
  • Knowledge of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and their integration into mission operations systems and training devices.
  • Experience with Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity requirements specific to Department of Defense (DoD) regulations.
  • Familiarity with development and deployment of weapon system COMSEC software across AH-64 models.
  • Proven analytical and technical skills for developing IT systems solutions and enhancing system performance, reliability, and readiness.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with Product Managers, technical teams, and government representatives.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with Apache weapon systems and their associated IT platforms.
  • Knowledge of Army-approved IT systems management tools such as SIPRNET, STAMIS, and Logistics Modernization Program (LMP).
  • Proficiency in using programs such as Arbortext XML for technical data development, integration, and publishing.
  • Background in developing Statements of Work (SOWs) and supporting cost and lifecycle estimates.

The target salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000.

Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.
