Job description

Our client is seeking a Wholesale Account Manager to drive growth of its bagged animal feed business through independent feed stores, farm stores, agricultural retailers, and wholesale dealer partners throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania.

This is a true business development ("hunter") role. While you'll manage existing dealer relationships, your primary responsibility is identifying, developing, and growing new wholesale accounts that increase market share across a full portfolio of livestock feed products.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record selling bagged animal feed through dealer or retail feed store channels and enjoys building long-term partnerships while consistently delivering measurable sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a territory growth strategy focused on expanding the wholesale dealer network
  • Prospect, qualify, and secure new feed dealer partnerships throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania
  • Grow sales within existing dealer accounts through product expansion, promotions, and strategic business planning
  • Conduct regular in-person dealer visits to strengthen relationships and uncover new business opportunities
  • Train dealer personnel on products, merchandising, and sales strategies
  • Partner with operations, customer service, and leadership to ensure exceptional dealer support
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and CRM records
  • Represent the company at trade shows, dealer events, and industry meetings

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of wholesale sales experience selling bagged animal feed through dealer or retail feed store channels
  • Demonstrated success developing new dealer relationships and growing existing wholesale accounts
  • Experience managing a multi-state sales territory
  • Strong prospecting, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience across multiple livestock species, including beef, dairy, swine, poultry, sheep, goats, etc.
  • Understanding of agricultural retail, feed distribution, and dealer sales strategies
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Business, or a related field is preferred but not required
