Job description

Job Summary:

Plan, direct, and/or coordinate quality assurance programs. Formulate quality control policies and control quality of laboratory and production efforts.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and/or coordinate quality assurance programs

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality management strategy and plans, including resources, systems, timescales, and financials, to support, contribute to, and integrate within, the organization’s annual. business plan and long term strategy. 
  • Develop and maintain systems to establish standards relating to activities and products.
  • Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against established standards.
  • Monitor performance (in relevant areas) according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to performance levels.
  • Monitor and inform/communicate/apply standards created/maintained by external bodies and integrate within internal quality management systems.
  • Establish and implement necessary communication strategies for the improvement and awareness of quality issues across all departments. 
  • Plan and manage departmental activities in accordance with agreed budgets and timescales. 
  • Report as necessary on changes in standards (internally and externally initiated) and on performance against standards. 
  • Liaise and co-operate with quality management and standards bodies (e.g., BSDI, Government Departments, HSE, etc.)
  • Manage staff according to company standards. (Appraisals, discipline, training, development, etc.)
  • Manage departmental performance against agreed targets and budgets, and within policies and standards.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers where necessary. (Where impacting/affected by quality issues).
  • Contribute to executive policy and strategy. 

 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance
  • Knowledge of Quality Programs
  • Clerical – Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, excel, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

Education and Experience:

4-year degree in related field

Previous quality experience with automotive manufacturing

At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role

Physical Requirements: 

Work is performed within Dongwon facilities, to include the production area, which is dusty, dirty, and noisy.

May be required to lift items weighting up to 25 lbs.

May be required to travel to customer locations, may be short notice.

Work will include extensive use of a computer and sitting at a desk for extended periods of time.
