Position Summary
Reporting to the Regional CEO and Group CFO, this role is responsible for leading the finance function across the USA. The Country CFO provides strategic financial leadership to drive sustainable growth, profitability, capital efficiency, risk management, and governance while supporting the organization's commercial and operational objectives.
The role requires a corporate professional who also has entrepreneurial skills and looks to the future with optimism to envision what could be possible. Success in this role requires collaboration, communication, leadership, and vision.
Position Scope
  • Leadership of finance, treasury, tax, accounting, internal controls, and business finance functions.
  • Management of significant revenue, balance sheet, and working capital portfolios.
  • Direct engagement with executive management, lenders, auditors, corporate headquarters, and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of financial management, including financial planning and analysis (FP&A), treasury, tax, accounting, and financial reporting in IFRS.
  • Own annual budgeting and forecasting processes across the United States.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to the Regional CEO and leadership team, providing insights and recommendations to support business growth and value creation.
  • Drive financial performance through effective monitoring of profitability, working capital, cash flow, return on investment, and key business metrics.
  • Oversee annual business planning, long-range strategic planning, and monthly performance reviews across the USA.
  • Lead cost optimization and operational efficiency initiatives across supply chain and service operations.
  • Provide commercial finance leadership on contract structuring, pricing, and margin optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards, internal controls, accounting policies, statutory requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead treasury and liquidity management activities, including banking relationships, cash optimization, working capital financing, foreign exchange risk management, and financing strategies.
  • Evaluate mergers, acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and capital expenditure projects through financial due diligence and business case assessments.
  • Strengthen risk management frameworks covering operational, financial, market, credit, counter party and compliance risks.
  • Drive digital transformation and process improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting, analytics, controls, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, financial institutions, regulators, and key stakeholders.
  • Represent the USA in global executive reviews, board discussions, and strategic forums.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Deep expertise in Mark-to-Market (M2M) accounting, commodity valuation, and hedge accounting, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP requirements while effectively managing earnings volatility and risk exposure.
  • Controllership: You are a controller that ensures accurate, efficient, and timely delivery of relevant reports.
  • Performance Officer: You help us to be on track with robust and timely performance tracking. You will ensure budgetary process improvements and achieve better predictability on outcomes
  • Value Manager: You ensure and support value maximization initiatives, i.e. interest, Trade Finance, etc.
  • Co-Strategist: You are our strategist, you help in dept value-added decision support through superior data analytics, and you help us drive special projects to growth.
  • Leadership and People Management: Strong leadership and management skills, with a focus on mentorship and development, and the ability to manage large cross-cultural teams. Prior experience in complex/matrix-oriented organization at the leadership level is desirable.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically, with experience in crisis management and media relations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and manage diverse stakeholders.
