Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) sector is looking for a Manager Project Management 2 to lead program synchronization as part of the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Operating Unit Synchronization Cell within the Global Command and Control Solutions (GC2S) Business Unit located in Huntsville, AL. IBCS is a network enabled, Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) compatible Integrated Fire Control System and is the centerpiece of the U.S. Army's modernization strategy for Air and Missile Defense. This is a full-time on-site position located in Huntsville, AL.
IBCS Synchronization Cell is dedicated to driving integrated, cross-business area planning. Sync Cell ensures contract and schedule alignment by coordinating program interdependencies, synchronizing resources, and enabling enterprise-wide visibility to support mission success. The primary objective of the position is to support the FMS Business Area in the coordination of cross program planning and development of integrated schedules to ensure schedule and contract alignment across the IBCS Enterprise. The Business Area Sync Manager reports to the Operating Unit Sync Lead and supports the FMS Business Area Director.
Responsibilities include
  • Coordinate cross program planning
  • Facilitate integration across multiple program schedules and contract actions
  • Utilize integrated master schedules to evaluate new work and provide impact on existing work and rough order schedules to start bid and proposal activities
  • Track program milestones and identify program scheduling and/or resource challenges, communicate issues, and drive solutions
  • Risk & Opportunity Management: serve as the escalation path for cross-business area risks, issues, resources conflicts and constraints
  • Identify dependencies between various contracts and programs
  • Develop program roadmaps, dashboards, and briefing material to support alignment reviews
  • Build various different schedules and program reports via PowerBI and Power Automate

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience OR Master's degree with 6 years of experience OR 12 years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience in large-scale program planning and roadmap development
  • Demonstrated executive communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
  • Experience in schedule and resource management
  • Experience in leveraging software tools that support program planning & reporting, i.e. Microsoft Project, PowerBI, Jira, Confluence
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in program-level management and reporting
  • Familiarity with agile development programs
  • Program management experience in a defense technical industry
  • Program management or agile project management experience
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance investigated within the last 5 years
  • Knowledge of Northrop Grumman's company and sector operations, policies, procedures and principles of operating practices
  • Understanding of lifecycle management processes within large defense industry production programs
  • Familiarity with defense industry contract management practices

Primary Level Salary Range: $127,100.00 - $190,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
