Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable broadband connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From households to small businesses, schools, hospitals, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve communities and organizations operating in places without dependable internet access.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead satellite assembly, integration, and test programs. In this role, you will drive satellite-level tests from planning through execution, including: qualification schedules and dependencies, hardware and software deliverables, test case development, test readiness reviews, mechanical GSE support, test rack support, and venue logistics coordination. You will influence test design while managing work streams across internal and external teams, proactively addressing risks to the critical path, removing roadblocks through stakeholder coordination and escalation, and tracking actions to closure.
This is an individual contributor role with broad organizational influence. Your technical domain knowledge, program management fundamentals, and trusted partnerships will enable you to drive organizational alignment and help teams deliver faster with higher quality.
This position requires direct technical experience developing and testing relevant systems. You will create and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but will also roll up your sleeves and contribute directly in test strategy and execution.

* Drive the critical path for vehicle qualification, working to define solutions that balance technical risk with business needs of the program office, production operations, and launch operations.
* Work with engineers to understand technical issues impeding the critical path in real time, pull in the correct stakeholders for resolution, escalate blockers, and synthesize information into data for leadership consumption (overall status, help needed, and critical path impacts).
* Develop integrated schedules, dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs in a high-speed, high-complexity, agile environment to deliver qualified hardware in time to meet business commitments.
* Apply understanding of concept of operations, system budgets, and lifecycle considerations for satellite tests and dependencies.
* Translate engineering concepts into executable plans (hardware and software), including new product introductions with DFM, manufacturing processes, test strategies, and automated test system development.
* Drive cross-team alignment on ownership, sequencing, and delivery while adapting quickly as conditions change, ensuring deliverables meet customer, mission and program requirements.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience in technical program management working directly with software engineering teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Experience influencing senior leaders/stakeholders
- Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience owning and driving large-scale cross-functional programs
- Experience with space hardware in a design or manufacturing environment
- Experience in test engineering or systems engineering
- High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
- Proven ability to deal effectively with ambiguity while leading in a high-speed, agile environment.
