Indy Equipment & Supply is looking for an ambitious, driven, and reliable customer service focused individual to fill the position of Inside / Counter Sales in our Independence, OH location.

A typical day looks like:

  • Answering sales calls and greeting and assisting customers inside the store by taking orders and answering questions in a courteous and timely manner
  • Processing and monitoring will calls, special orders, backorders, fabrication orders, truck orders, drop ships, and quotes
  • Maintaining store appearance by straightening, organizing, and securing displayed material to guarantee safe and orderly conditions in the sales area. Facing shelves and restocking showroom as needed. Cleaning and organizing as needed
  • Maintaining a high level of product knowledge through reading about the products the company sells and attending all assigned product knowledge meetings. Providing customers with reliable information regarding product specifications, product suitability, pricing, and availability
  • Other duties as assigned

Do you have what it takes?

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to learn computer software, and input orders in sales order database
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to lift up to 90lbs
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Accurate and detail-oriented
  • Knowledge of construction goods, equipment, and products
