Job description

Premier Sand and Stone LLC, a subsidiary of Coyote Rock LLC, is a fast-paced and fast-growing Specialty Aggregate company. Premier Sand and Stone is an open pit mine that operates VSI crushers and material separation wash plants focusing on the Golf, Sports Field and Pool Industries. We are currently seeking a full time Heavy Equipment/Blending Operator. The ideal candidate will have some basic knowledge of operating heavy equipment, aggregate mining and/or batch blending and have a good understanding of converting yards to tons, fractions, etc. This position is solely responsible for the safe and efficient blending of aggregate materials into finished products. The Heavy Equipment/Blending Operator is responsible for many tasks at the assigned location. Operators are responsible for loading trucks with orders dispatched, operating a blender to blend aggregate material, and the daily inspections to ensure equipment is operating as intended and creating the blend that meets the specifications of the job.

This position is primarily located at the Bells/Savoy Sand & Gravel Plant, a Martin Marietta plant, working as an onsite contractor.


Job Type: Full Time

Hours: Monday-Friday 5am-3pm, weekends and overtime as needed

Travel as needed for projects

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Operating a blender to blend sand, compost, and topsoil used in golf or sports fields.
  • Setting dials and observing the operation of blender to ensure blending to specifications ordered.
  • Making daily checks of all working parts, blender, and heavy equipment to maintain safety compliance and ensure maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Communicating with dispatch to fill orders.
  • Loading trucks with Front End Loader
  • Other Duties as assigned
  • Must have mathematical knowledge with the ability to understand percentages and fractions
  • Must have critical thinking skills: the ability to think on your feet and make adjustments as necessary
