Job description

The Pest Control Technician is responsible for identifying, managing, and eliminating pests in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role involves inspecting properties, applying pest control treatments, and educating clients about pest prevention methods. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently while delivering excellent customer service.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification or licensure in pest control (may be required, depending on state regulations)

Experience:
  • 1+ years of experience in pest control or related fields, preferably in the lawn care or landscaping industry.
  • Customer service experience, especially in handling inquiries and explaining procedures.

Skills:
  • Ability to identify various pests and their habits.
  • Knowledge of common lawn and garden pests, their behaviors, and effective pest control methods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in using pest control equipment and applying chemicals safely.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and professional client interactions.
  • Physical stamina to handle manual tasks and work in varying conditions (indoors and outdoors).

General Responsibilities:
  • Inspect lawns, landscapes, and trees for signs of pest activity, including insects, rodents, and other harmful pests.
  • Apply pesticides, herbicides, and other chemicals to lawns, trees, and landscapes using appropriate equipment, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Calibrate and operate sprayers, spreaders, and other application equipment for maximum effectiveness.
  • Evaluate the extent of pest infestations and assess potential damage.
  • Apply pest control methods and treatments, such as sprays, traps, and baits, using appropriate tools and chemicals.
  • Safely handle and dispose of chemicals in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Communicate with clients to explain pest issues, treatment plans, and prevention strategies.
  • Provide follow-up services to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve recurring issues.
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles to ensure they are in proper working condition.
  • Keep detailed records of services performed, chemicals used, and client interactions.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to pest control.
  • Stay informed about new pest control techniques, products, and regulations through ongoing training.

Hourly: $17.00-$21.00
