What is an agency?

An agency is a business or organization that provides specialized services on behalf of another business, individual, or group. Agencies can operate in various industries, such as advertising, marketing, travel, employment, real estate, and more. They act as intermediaries, using their expertise to help clients achieve specific goals, like promoting a product, finding talent, or managing operations. The services offered depend on the agency's focus area, but typically include strategic planning, execution, and support. Working with an agency can help organizations access skills or resources they don't have in-house.

What are different types of agency jobs?

Agency jobs fall into several categories, with the differences based on the type of agency with which you work. Common forms of agencies include staffing agencies, advertising agencies, and federal agencies. Agencies are different from most businesses in that they tend to focus on particular aspects of a business, such as digital advertisements, rather than more consumer-focused products and services. For example, in a recruitment agency, you may help companies find and hire an employee with a rare set of skills, while at a creative marketing agency, you provide suggestions for unusual, attention-grabbing advertising campaigns. Regardless of type, you should expect to work closely with clients to ensure you meet their needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an agency account manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Agency Account Manager, you need strong project management, client relationship, and marketing knowledge, often supported by a relevant degree such as in marketing, communications, or business. Familiarity with CRM platforms, digital marketing tools, and analytics software is commonly required. Outstanding communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills help professionals excel in client-facing situations and team collaboration. These competencies are essential for delivering successful campaigns, retaining clients, and driving agency growth.

What are some common challenges faced when working in an agency environment, and how can job seekers prepare for them?

Working in an agency often involves managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously, which can be both exciting and demanding. Common challenges include tight deadlines, rapidly shifting priorities, and high expectations for creativity and results. To prepare, job seekers should develop strong time management skills, adaptability, and effective communication abilities. Proactively seeking feedback and learning to collaborate across diverse teams will also help you thrive in the fast-paced agency setting.

NO CAP Sales Representative for Home Health Agency

PCAH of South Tampa

Tampa, FL โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Re-posted 6 days ago

Job description

Preferred Care at Home is seeking to partner with a motivated sales professional. This is a contracted role subject to review and renewal after the first six months. Pay is a very generous, commission-only structure with unlimited earning potential (no cap). This role is not for anyone who needs a base salary + commission structure. You must be comfortable working solely on commission. Here's the highlights of the role.
  • Set your own work schedule. Seriously, aside from a brief weekly meeting with the owner, do what you want.
  • Earn $1000 sign-on bonus for each client converted (of 20+ hours/week need).
  • Earn 5% commission of net revenue on each client, for the life of that client or your term of agreement with the agency.
  • Weekly pay cycle
  • Option to explore handling warm-lead calls, for those so inclined.
  • Marketing materials & meals provided.
  • Mileage reimbursement.
What are you supposed to do?
  • Generally, your goal is to build and nurture relationships with referral sources. All clients that come to us through your referral source are considered yours; you will be expected to follow leads through to the close of sale.
  • In the beginning, the owner Jared will accompany you on your in-person lead visits to close the sale.
  • For those inclined to handle warm leads, you will be trained with an initial call script, taught our lead tracking system, and expected to manage follow-ups via phone calls, texts, and email drip-campaigns. If you hate telesales & digital communication, this side of sales is not for you.
What we are like.
  • We are a family-owned and operated home health agency. No, that doesn't mean we "treat everyone like family" in that weird corporate way. It means we treat people like real people, and the heartbeat of our business matters more to us than the bottom line.
  • The owner loves teaching & helping other people succeed.
  • Good communication is critical, but we do NOT micromanage. If you constantly need to be told what to do, this will not work for you.
  • We do this because we care about caring for people well. We don't tolerate dishonesty. We would rather lose money doing the right thing than make a quick buck at the expense of someone else.
  • We want people who work hard, but clearly care about people. We do not want to become known as that agency with the really aggressive and rude sales people.

Those are the basics! If it seems like a fit for your gifts and goals, then submit your resume. We look forward to meeting you.
