Job description


Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.
Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.
To be successful in this role, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

  • Transfers and properly positions patient, for examinations, in order to obtain desired radiographic results according to physician specifications and established protocols. Provides immobilization as required and protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Selects and operates equipment, selecting proper technical factors on an individual patient basis. Selects and loads proper film cassettes, using film markers correctly and consistently.
  • Rotates within the department or other departments and shifts as required. Supports in other areas when not busy in own area.
  • Assists physicians in performance of examinations by mixing and pouring contrast media, administering opaque media, holding and turning patients, assisting in sterile procedures, and other related duties as required.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Successful completion of a fully accredited training program (CAAHEP) or a similar,nationally recognized, accrediting agency, in the pertinent modality for which the employee is being hired.
  • Successful and valid registration/certification by a nationally recognized accrediting agency;in the specific modality for which the employee was hired or registry eligible and valid registration/certification must be obtained within four (4) months of hire date.
  • After one year of satisfactory performance as a validly registered/certified technologist,  the employee will be re-classified to the Imaging Technologist classification.
  • Modality specific advance level registry must be obtained within twelve months of hire date.
  • Should any of the above requirements not be obtained in the specified time frame, a single three (3) month extension may be considered and granted at the discretion of the management. Failure to obtain/achieve valid certification will result in immediate termination from employment.
  • Must be capable of performing all routine diagnostic procedures independently,including but not limited to: routine,fluoroscopy, OR, trauma, portable radiographs; limited specials such a Myelograms, Venograms, ERCP's.
