Job description

????  Part-Time STEM & Science After-School Instructor  ????  
Mad Science of DC delivers high-energy, hands-on STEM programs to elementary school students and we are looking for engaging instructors to lead our after-school programs.
????‍???? Key Responsibilities

  • Pick up program materials weekly from our storage unit in McLean.
  • Transport gear safely to assigned school sites in NoVa.
  • Lead interactive 60-minute science classes for groups of 12–20 elementary students (K–6th grade).
  • Manage classroom decorum, foster curiosity, and ensure student safety.
Non-Negotiable Requirements
 ????‍????  Child Group Experience: Minimum 1 year leading groups of elementary-aged kids (e.g., classroom teaching, camp counselor, sports coaching, after-school care).
????  Reliable Vehicle & Drivers License: Must own a reliable car to transport weekly program kits to school locations.
????  Schedule Availability: Fully available during school dismissal hours (approx. 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM) at least 2 consistent weekdays per week.
????  Background Check: Must pass a state/federal criminal background check and child safety clearance.
Preferred (Not Required)

  • Background or interest in education, performing arts, or STEM fields.
  • Existing active school district clearances (FCPS & Arlington) - Bonus!
