POSITION SUMMARY

The Afterschool Program Manager will work under the direction of the St. Paul Director of Operations. The Afterschool Program Manager provides leadership for the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of a high-quality afterschool program. This position oversees daily programming, supervises and trains staff, builds and maintains strong partnerships with families and community organizations, and ensures engaging academic, social-emotional, and enrichment opportunities for scholars. Working collaboratively with school staff, community partners, and Prodeo's Activities Coordinator, the Afterschool Program Manager creates a welcoming, inclusive environment where students and families can thrive.

This is a part-time role, approximately 24 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Program Leadership

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily afterschool programming.
  • Develop engaging academic enrichment, social-emotional learning, recreation, arts, and enrichment activities.
  • Ensure programming is developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive, and aligned with student needs.
  • Coordinate on-site operations during afterschool programming (approximately 2:30-5:30 p.m.).

Leadership

  • Train, supervise, and support afterschool staff and volunteers.
  • Provide coaching, scheduling, and ongoing professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative, positive team culture focused on student success.

Family & Community Engagement

  • Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and service providers.
  • Strengthen relationships with families through ongoing communication and engagement opportunities.
  • Support family partnership initiatives that encourage participation and connection to school.

Program Administration

  • Monitor student attendance and participation.
  • Assist with program assessment, evaluation, and data collection required by grant funding.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with grant expectations.
  • Support continuous program improvement through data-informed decision making.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

COMPENSATION

Salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience, educational background, and academic outcomes with a starting salary of $45,000. This is a part-time position and does not qualify for benefits.
