Instagram Copywriter - Personal Brand of Richard Yu (USD 3-6k/month)

Remote

$20K/mo

Full-time

This job post has expired 1 day ago. Applications are no longer accepted.

Key responsibilities

  • Write Instagram scripts for Reels, carousels, and stories that Richard reads on camera, including hooks, body, and CTAs.

  • Reverse-engineer viral Instagram posts and translate their mechanics into scripts that fit Richard's voice.

  • Work directly with the Head of Instagram and the content team to achieve measurable goals such as view count, follower growth, and save/share rates.

Job description

The role in one sentence
Write the Instagram scripts: reels, carousels, stories, that Richard films and posts, with the explicit goal of producing viral content that grows the account and drives inbound followers to grow an 8-figure online education business.
This is a creative role with a research backbone. You're not handing ideas to someone else. You're writing the script Richard reads on camera.
Who Richard is
Richard turned a $500 digital product into an 8-figure online education company. He now teaches others how to build online businesses, documenting the journey across Instagram and YouTube. The brand is impact-driven, scaling fast, and aiming to become one of the most influential voices in business education on the platform.

    • Old channel: https://youtube.com/richardyu1

What you'll actually do day-to-day
Spend 90% of your week writing scripts for Reels, carousels, and story content hooks, body, CTAs, the full thing. Studying Instagram is part of the job, not the whole job: you'll reverse-engineer viral posts and translate the mechanics: the hook structure, the pacing, the emotional payoff into scripts that fit Richard's voice.
You'll work directly with the Head of Instagram and the rest of the content team production, and you'll own a measurable goal: view count, follower growth, save/share rates.
Requirements
  • You've written scripts or copy for a personal brand or creator account that has gone viral, and you can show us the receipts (URLs, screenshots, view counts)
  • You've grown an account (yours or a client's) to meaningful scale, or you've shipped individual posts that have been been extremely viral (over 5x views/followers ratio)
  • You can match a voice. Send us anyone's IG and you can write in their cadence within a few iterations
  • You watch Instagram the way film students watch movies, you can tell us why a hook landed in the first 0.8 seconds and what the second-line shift did to retention
  • You follow people in Richard's adjacent space (Iman Gadzhi, Alex Hormozi, Cole Gordon, Codie Sanchez, etc.) and have opinions about what's working on their pages right now
  • Bonuses:
    • You have meaningful experience writing copy for other platforms: TikTok, Facebook, Youtube, Ads, Email, VSLs or Webinars
    • You have experience leading a team
    • You have experience editing videos or as a graphics designer

Benefits
  • This is negotiable, and will depend on your prior experience.
    Ranges from $3K - $6K/month, including a base and a performance bonus
  • Open to higher tiers for director-level thinkers and also to grow internally to a managerial position as you generate more value to the company (We've had entry-level copywriters, all the way to director level at $20K per month)
  • This is a remote, flexible role. We care about output, not hours.

Why Join Us?
  • Work with a Fast-Growing, Mission-Driven Brand: We're scaling fast and helping people build real online businesses and reshape how modern education works.
  • Creative Ownership: Your ideas matter. You'll have full autonomy to experiment, ideate, and lead the viral content research strategy.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: You'll be on the pulse of what's hot on Instagram before it becomes mainstream.
  • Remote & Flexible: Work from anywhere in the world, on your own schedule.
  • Growth Opportunities: Growth to leadership positions, such as Marketing Team Lead, Marketing Director are very much possible as you grow with the team.
