Job Description
At Edmunds we're driven to make car buying easier. Ever since we began publishing printed car guides in the 60's, the company has been in the business of trust, innovating ways to empower and support car shoppers. When Edmunds launched the car industry's first Internet site in 1994, we established a leadership position online and have never looked back. Now, as one of the most trusted review sites on the Internet, millions of visitors use our research, shopping and buying tools every month to make an easy and informed decision on their next car. For consumers, we bring peace of mind. For dealers, we make tools to help them solve their problems and sell more cars. How do we do it, you ask? The key ingredients are our enthusiastic employees, progressive company culture and cutting-edge technology. Want to join the team? Read on to find out how!
What You're Applying For:
Do you love cars? Are you the go-to car person in your social group? Do you love sharing your passion with friends and family? How about on camera? Edmunds is seeking a personable, enthusiastic host for video content across Edmunds and CarMax YouTube, website, and social channels. While interfacing with multiple departments, you will develop ideas and scripts for video productions. You will bring on-screen personality to our productions and provide timely feedback to the post-production team. Our ideal candidate should be able to speak to the automotive novice, the enthusiast, and everyone in between. Interested? Show us by making a 30-second video that tells us who you are and why you're right for this role. In addition, link us to your reel if you have one.
What You'll Do:

  • Generate social content (pictures, videos) from video shoots
  • Write accompanying companion pieces for hosted videos
  • Attend industry events, when applicable, that can support all of the above
  • Use Monday.com to manage assignments and hit deadlines
  • Contribute to maintaining an environment that's based on creativity, communication, and transparency
  • Drive long-term test vehicles to produce LT blog comments and possible video or News content
  • Create quality content in an efficient and timely manner that upholds Edmunds' standards
  • Work cross-functionally with other teams, e.g., PR, insights, to drive business success

What You Need:
  • Experience creating and presenting automotive content on-camera in either a broadcast or online environment
  • An authentic passion for cars. You're fanatical and deeply knowledgeable about our subject matter, giving you instant credibility both internally and externally
  • Thorough knowledge of high-volume consumer vehicles
  • Advanced driving skills, along with the ability to present to the camera while driving
  • Automotive industry knowledge
  • Able to be an active contributor within our team of hosts and writers
  • Top-level storytelling across all media, with an emphasis on video
  • Personal reliability and integrity. Your colleagues know they can rely on you in every respect; you model this trait in all that you do
  • High comfort level in taking the initiative and managing multiple projects and deadlines with exacting attention to detail
