Job description

Position Type: Part-Time
Hours: Afternoon shift (typically 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, hours may vary)
Location: On-site
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and nurturing Afternoon Resource Teacher to support our classrooms during the second half of the day. This role is essential in maintaining ratio, providing classroom coverage, assisting teachers, and ensuring a smooth, safe, and engaging afternoon for our students.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support lead and assistant teachers across classrooms as needed
  • Step into classrooms to maintain proper teacher-to-child ratios
  • Assist with afternoon activities, transitions, rest time, and dismissal
  • Provide coverage for staff breaks and absences
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
  • Engage positively with children and support their social and emotional needs
  • Follow all school policies, licensing requirements, and safety procedures

Qualifications
  • Experience working with children preferred (childcare, preschool, or school setting)
  • Must be patient, reliable, and flexible
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Strong communication and time-management skills
  • Must meet state childcare requirements (background screening, training, etc.)
