Pre-Admit Testing Registered Nurse

We are seeking a flexible, detail-oriented Pre-Admit Testing Registered Nurse for a PRN opportunity within our Surgical Services division at HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast in Pasadena. Operating as the vital clinical gatekeeper for our multi-suite surgical department, you will perform comprehensive Pre-Op assessments, review anesthesia histories, and coordinate pre-admission testing to ensure absolute surgical readiness. Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assume responsibility for efficient patient flow throughout the pre-admission process.
  • Perform pre-operative assessment of patients in a timely manner.
  • Assist with lab draws and performance of patient EKG's as need on the unit.
  • Provide communication, confidence, and professionalism as evidenced by active engagement in unit and organizational activities.
  • Demonstrate team work, adaptability, and serve as a resource to the patient care team.
  • Have accountability for delivering quality nursing care services and for promoting a positive image of nursing.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with an Associates or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 60 days of hire date).
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification is required.
  • 1-year of clinical Pre-Admission Testing experience as a licensed RN required.
