Job description

71 Visuals is looking for an experienced, highly organized Installation Manager to oversee the day-to-day execution of our installation projects.

This is a hands-on management position for someone who is comfortable coordinating multiple projects, managing internal installers and subcontractors, solving problems in the field, and keeping installation schedules and budgets on track.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and natural problem solver who can anticipate issues before they become problems. Every day will be a little different, so we're looking for someone who can prioritize, make decisions, and keep projects moving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily installation schedule and coordinate manpower across multiple projects.
  • Communicate project requirements, schedules, changes, and expectations with our internal installation team.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and manage outside installation subcontractors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for installation projects requiring additional attention or troubleshooting.
  • Review upcoming projects to identify potential installation challenges before crews arrive onsite.
  • Perform field/site surveys, take measurements, document existing conditions, and provide accurate information back to our project management and production teams.
  • Review installation requirements and help determine the best approach, equipment, manpower, and timing for each project.
  • Manage installation project budgets and labor hours to ensure projects meet company expectations.
  • Monitor project progress and address issues that could impact schedule, quality, or profitability.
  • Find practical solutions when unexpected field conditions or installation challenges arise.
  • Coordinate installation logistics including equipment, access, deliveries, permits, subcontractors, and customer/site requirements.
  • Receive and coordinate courier or freight shipments when necessary.
  • Help kick off projects and ensure installers have the information, materials, drawings, tools, and expectations needed to be successful.
  • Communicate with Project Managers regarding installation status, field conditions, changes, and potential additional costs.
  • Document field changes, additional work, and conditions that may impact project scope or budget.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, professional installation operation.
  • Step into the field when necessary to support the team, troubleshoot an installation, perform a survey, or help keep a project moving.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with installers, subcontractors, Project Managers, customers, vendors, and other departments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple active projects and changing priorities without losing track of details.
  • Comfortable making decisions and taking ownership of problems.
  • Good understanding of labor hours, project budgets, and job profitability.
  • Ability to read drawings, plans, measurements, and installation specifications.
  • Comfortable visiting construction sites and active installation locations.
  • Experience managing field crews, subcontractors, or construction-related projects.
  • Signage, graphics, construction, architectural products, millwork, exhibits, or similar industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to work with scheduling and project management software.

The Person Who Will Succeed in This Role

You don't need someone standing over your shoulder telling you what to do next. You see an issue, take ownership of it, and work toward a solution.

You're comfortable managing a schedule in the morning, talking with a subcontractor an hour later, performing a site survey in the afternoon, and helping troubleshoot an installation before the day is over.

You understand that successful installations require planning, communication, accountability, and the ability to adapt when the unexpected happens.

Most importantly, you take pride in seeing projects successfully completed.
