Job description

Job Title: Coating Booth Operator

Location: Edgerton, WI

Employment Type:  Full-Time, First Shift, Mon-Thurs: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM

                    Friday Overtime as Needed, No Saturday/Sunday work

                    30 min PAID lunch, 10-min PAID Break

Pay: Competitive hourly rate: $24.00/HR

We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined individual to join our team as a Coating Booth Operator.

Position Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for prepping the aluminum surface of the rollers and applying proprietary coatings to WINertiaTM rollers. You will ensure each product meets our high-quality standards before shipping to customers. You will work closely with our production and quality teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in the coating process.

The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, including one-piece flow and 6S workplace organization. Experience running parts in a fast-paced production environment is highly beneficial, along with a continuous improvement mindset to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain coating booth equipment in accordance with company standards
  • Prepare parts for coating, including masking, cleaning, and surface preparation
  • Handle coating materials safely and accurately
  • Monitor coating process parameters to ensure quality and consistency
  • Identify visual defects at the end of each coating process.
  • Perform set ups and inspections of coated parts using appropriate measuring tools
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety and environmental guidelines
  • Clean and maintain all masking and racking equipment.
  • Operate hoist and electrical lift to safely transport parts through production process.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus.
  • Previous experience in plasma spraying, thermal spray, or industrial coating preferred (will train the right candidate).
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, and process instructions.
  • Very good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to use chisels, drills, and a variety of small hand tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to wear dual ear protection, (Ear plugs and Ear muffs)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
