Job description

The EP Area Learning Center seeks to serve students who have previously withdrawn or disengaged from school but are excited to re-engage in innovative and flexible programming that provides: personalized, authentic, interdisciplinary learning; interpersonal counseling that focuses on whole student development and current + future life goals; and opportunities to cultivate personal relationships in a non-intimidating, small-scale setting.  The program serves ~60 students at a 15-to-1 staffing ratio.
This position will teach an interdisciplinary studio block course during the first half of each school day (rotating topics each term, with the opportunity for paid summer curriculum writing to develop new studio courses) and will teach a MyTime course focusing on student career/academic/wellness/relational goals during a portion of the afternoon (opposite the teacher's daily instructional prep time).

Eden Prairie Schools is looking for licensed educators interested in joining our Valley View Campus to teach in-person for our new Area Learning Center, which utilizes an interdisciplinary, project-based learning model.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in the educational field
  • Applicants who will hold the following credentials by August 31, 2026 are welcome to apply.  We will work with applicants whose license is in process.
    • Minnesota Teacher License: This position requires a Cross-Curricular Delivery Permission, in addition to 9-12 Licensure in one of the following areas: Communication Arts/Literature (preferred), Math, Science, Social Studies, or Arts/PE/Health. The district will assist employees in submitting a Cross-Curricular Delivery Permission Request.
      • We encourage all applicants to review the MN Tier License System as we will work with applicants in applying for various Tier licenses that they may qualify
      • The district is willing to request an out of field permission license as needed
