Biddeford, Dayton, and Saco School Departments are excited to announce an opportunity to join our team as a Data Manager Assistant. This year-round position is an ideal opportunity for a highly organized, analytical, and collaborative professional who is passionate about using data to support education and improve systems. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, detail-oriented problem solver, and eager to continuously learn and grow in a fast-paced educational environment.

Position Overview

The Data Manager Assistant plays a critical role in supporting educational and operational excellence across the school communities. This position is responsible for assisting in the management of student and organizational data systems, creating meaningful reports and analyses, supporting staff training, and ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and accessibility of district data.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex data requests into actionable information that supports student success and district operations.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should possess:

  • A minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with demonstrated expertise in computer programming and database creation/management
  • Experience using tools such as Crystal Reports, SQL Reporting Services, Infinite Campus, and PowerSchool
  • Demonstrated skills in statistical and data analysis, including database testing, error analysis, quality assurance, and effective presentation of findings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • The ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities
  • A willingness to learn new systems, technologies, and processes
  • Eligibility to successfully pass a background check, including a Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check (CHRC)

Key Responsibilities

The Data Manager will:

  • Translate user requests into accurate and meaningful data reports that support educational and operational objectives
  • Analyze, design, test, and improve district data systems and interfaces
  • Provide technical support related to educational and business data systems
  • Organize and evaluate reporting processes to ensure timely and accurate information delivery
  • Communicate effectively with staff members who have varying levels of familiarity with district database systems
  • Present data through reports, dashboards, charts, graphs, and other user-friendly formats
  • Prepare assigned local, state, and federal reports
  • Support and streamline student information systems, including Infinite Campus and PowerSchool
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by the Superintendent
