Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY: Seasonal Quality Assurance
Responsible for quality control checks and reporting for different processes in the plant.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Grade product and record findings for blemishes, mechanical damage, long/short pieces, and foreign material.
  • Monitor and record cook process, temperatures, times, pressures, and water level every 30 minutes from the cooker(s).
  • Monitor and record temperatures from the blanchers.
  • Monitor and record the fill weights and drain weights.
  • Seam teardown checks.
  • Visual seam checks.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing of lab and lab equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Notify supervisor immediately if any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions are discovered.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by Lakeside Management.
  • Adhere to all Lakeside Foods policies and procedure.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge:
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Learn and follow the approved safe practices and procedures which apply to position.
  • Become familiar with, observe, and follow all Lakeside Foods' rules and established policies for Safety, Health and Security.

Language Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, and procedure manuals.

Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to accurately fill out check list and correspondence.
  • Ability to perform simple math.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be able to bend at waist and knees.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms above the shoulders.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Noise level in the work area is moderate to high. Ear protection is required in the plant only.

Seasonal Work Schedule:
  • With this being a seasonal position, any applicant that is considered for employment would have to commit to the working timeframe of approximately July 6th, 2026 thru December 4th, 2026.
