Job description

  • POSITION: Senior Army Instructor (SAI) for Army JROTC Program
  • LOCATION: Clinton High School
  • WHEN: As soon as possible
  • LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 11 months on a full-school year basis

Clinton High School is seeking a dedicated Senior Army Instructor (SAI) to lead our Army JROTC program. The SAI serves as the senior military instructor and department head for the JROTC program, responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all aspects of the curriculum, leadership development activities, community engagement, and cadet operations in accordance with U.S. Army Cadet Command guidance and school district policies. The SAI plays a vital role in mentoring students, fostering citizenship, leadership, character development, and academic excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Retired Commissioned Officer or Warrant Officer, or reserve or national guard soldier, in good standing with the U.S. Army that meets the rank and service requirements established by Army regulation. See the Army JROTC site for specific qualifications.
    • Eligible and certified (or able to obtain certification) as a Senior Army Instructor through U.S. Army Cadet Command.
      • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Ability to work effectively with high school students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Must meet school district background check and employment requirements.

       Responsibilities

  • Program leadership and administration. Ensure compliance with all Army regulations and district policies.
  • Instruction and curriculum delivery. Integrate experiential learning opportunities including drill, ceremonies and field activities. Monitor and evaluate cadet performance and academic progress.
  • Cadet leadership development.
  • Supervise cadet extracurricular activities.
  • Build partnerships with parents, community organizations, veteran's groups and civic leaders.
  • Represent the JROTC program at community, school and district events.
  • Support student recruitment and retention efforts.
