Primary Job Duties

Ramp Agents are responsible for processing baggage between baggage areas in the airport facilities and aircraft, as well as receiving and dispatching aircraft.  

  • Loading and unloading aircraft and carts
  • Stacking and unstacking baggage in aircraft
  • Completing safety checklists for motorized equipment
  • Driving and operating motorized equipment (e.g., conveyor belts)
  • Reading and interpreting aircraft load sheets and checked baggage tags
  • Escorting passengers and special-needs customers safely and courteously
  • Ensuring compliance with SkyWest and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and policies

Minimum Requirements

We are looking for individuals excited to take on new challenges, especially within the airline industry! SkyWest Ramp Agents come from a wide range of backgrounds, education, interests, and experience.

  • 18 years of age or older 
  • Possess a valid, unrestricted, state-issued driver’s license
  • Have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Obtain and maintain position-specific clearances include, but are not limited to, FAA, TSA, Port Authority, and U.S. Customs clearances
  • Pass a pre-placement background check and drug screen
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

Physical and Other Requirements
  • Lift heavy bags over 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • This position requires you to work outside in all weather conditions 
  • Attend four days of Basic Station Training
  • This position requires a flexible schedule, including split shifts that may occur during early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Part-time and full-time positions may be available
  • $15.16 per hour
  • This is not a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position
