Avella Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our vibrant team as a Trauma Care Specialist. In your role as a Mental Health Therapist, you will:

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand clients’ histories, symptoms, and treatment needs.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that target trauma recovery and resilience building.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to promote healing and coping.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process their trauma and develop effective coping strategies.
• Engage in collaborative care by working closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
• Provide crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, helping clients stabilize and navigate through acute distress.
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, available resources, and coping mechanisms to empower them in their recovery.
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation that adheres to legal and ethical standards of practice.
• Participate in regular case consultations and team meetings to discuss patient progress and treatment adjustments.
• Continue your professional development by staying informed about new research and best practices in trauma therapy.

This position will focus on serving a diverse array of clients who are dealing with the aftermath of trauma. You will work with individuals who may experience PTSD, complex trauma, and various related disorders, providing them with evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to their unique circumstances. Through your efforts, you will not only help clients heal from their past experiences but also equip them with the tools necessary for future resilience.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in Maryland.
• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a non-judgmental, compassionate approach.
• The ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-stress situations.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant software applications.
• A collaborative spirit, ready to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

We prefer candidates with at least two years of post-licensure experience in a therapeutic setting, particularly those who have worked extensively with trauma survivors. Familiarity with evidence-based modalities and a strong dedication to ongoing professional education will set you apart.

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between USD 90,000 and 110,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a comprehensive salary package, we provide a robust benefits package that includes:
