Atlas Psychological and Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed mental health therapist to join our dynamic team. This full-time position is ideal for an individual passionate about providing specialized mental health services in a remote outpatient setting. Our focus is on delivering high-quality care to individuals impacted by trauma, fostering recovery and resilience through targeted therapeutic interventions.

Work Environment

This position offers a unique remote work environment, providing flexibility to our mental health therapists while ensuring access to comprehensive resources and support. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive and trauma-informed mental health assessments to accurately evaluate the trauma history of patients and identify suitable treatment modalities.
  • Create and implement individualized treatment plans that focus specifically on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and evidence-based practices.
  • Utilize proven therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to guide patients through their healing journeys.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to empower clients to address their trauma, construct coping strategies, and foster emotional healing.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and holistic patient care, enhancing treatment outcomes.
  • Provide crisis intervention for patients experiencing traumatic stress and emotional emergencies, ensuring a rapid and effective response to their needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will work with primarily consist of individuals navigating the aftermath of a range of traumatic experiences. This includes but is not limited to, survivors of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse, veterans dealing with PTSD, and individuals who have encountered significant life stressors such as accidents, natural disasters, or personal loss. Understanding the complexities of these individual stories is foundational to providing effective therapy.

Qualifications
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Arizona.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a clinical mental health setting, with a focus on trauma-informed care preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in trauma-related disorders and therapeutic techniques aimed at resilience building.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, exhibiting a compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to care.
