This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable individual to support a teenage girl with special needs in the Wausau area. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring youth and is passionate about making a meaningful, positive impact.

Support may take place either in your home or within the community. Responsibilities include creating a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment while helping the individual build confidence, independence, and essential life skills.

Wage:
$17.66 per hour (shift less than 8 hours)
$256.00 per day (shifts more than 8 hours)

Hours:
20 hours per week - after school
4 days per month - every other weekend

Responsibilities:
Provide companionship and supervision - always ensuring her safety. 
Communicate effectively and professionally with the teen and her family. 
Create firm boundaries but still be kind and empathetic. 
Be present and engaging.  Participate in activities that are meaningful to her.

Skills:
Be consistent and confident in your abilities
Have experience working with youths with behavioral/mental health issues
Able to use redirection/de-escalation techniques if needed for aggressive or violent behaviors.

Qualifications:
Valid Driver's License, Reliable Vehicle and auto insurance
Willing to work with her in the community and your own home. 
Previous respite experience preferred with children with behavioral/mental health issues. 
Willing to undergo a background check prior to hire.
