Location: One of Self-Help Enterprisesโ€™ rental apartment communities
Currently recruiting for the Visalia area.
Hours: 15 hours per week, Mon-Fri 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM


Are you passionate about helping young people reach their full potential? Self-Help Enterprises (SHE) is seeking an energetic and creative Afterschool Coordinator to lead youth programs that inspire learning, leadership, and community connection.

As the Afterschool Coordinator, youโ€™ll plan and facilitate fun, engaging, and educational activities for Kโ€“12 students living at one of SHEโ€™s apartment communities. Youโ€™ll work closely with the Resident Services Coordinator, Site Manager, parents, and community partners to provide a safe, positive environment where youth can learn, grow, and thrive.


Responsibilities
  • Plan monthly activity schedules and design youth-focused lesson plans for afterschool sessions.
  • Coordinate and oversee activities in the on-site computer lab.
  • Create a positive and inclusive environment that supports academic success, recreation, and personal growth.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model, encouraging communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with SHE staff and partners to ensure program success.
  • Uphold all compliance and reporting requirements.

  • Enthusiasm for working with children and teens.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and lead interactive activities.
