Job description

 

The Facilitator will foster relationships with students to enable a proactive approach to conflict resolution and encourage personal growth in students of the Reaching Higher Afterschool Program at Townsend Elementary School in Vandercook Lake (Jackson, MI).

**We need someone up to four days a week. Program runs Monday through Thursday. This position will be working with students in third, fourth and fifth grades providing homework support in math and language arts and assisting in enrichment activities.  

Minimum Qualifications / Experience: 

  • Bachelor degree. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of youth.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working with youth in a structured program setting. 
  • Shall be a person of good character who possesses the health, emotional stability, maturity and strength to carry out assigned duties.

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Create activities to implement engaging youth development opportunities.
  • Engage and assist students during academic enrichment activities.
  • Assist youth with homework and provide support for individualized tutoring.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner to serve as a mentor and role model.
  • Cultivates positive relationships with students, families, and school-day personnel.
  • Attends all mandatory meetings and completes all paperwork as required.
  • Participates in 18 hours of professional development per year that meets licensing requirements.
  • Performs duties in a manner that ensures compliance with Child Day Care Licensing rules and regulations. 
  • Ensures program operates in a way that follows industry quality standards and in accordance with the grant.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
