Grapevine Faith Christian School exists to develop and graduate authentic Christian leaders.


Position Summary:

Grapevine Faith Christian School is seeking a dynamic and relational High School Math Teacher to join our faculty for the upcoming school year.


We are looking to add to our math department as we continue to strengthen an already outstanding team. This position is part of a strategic effort to reduce the number of course preparations across the department in order to deepen instructional quality, collaboration, and sustainability for our faculty.


The ideal candidate loves students, teaches mathematics with clarity and purpose, and desires to partner with families in a Christ centered school community.


Status: Exempt / 10-month - Full Time


Responsibilities:

  1. Seeks to model in speech, actions, and attitude, a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ.
  2. Integrates Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum.
  3. Teach High School math courses which may include Geometry, Algebra II, Pre Calculus, Calculus and/or Statistics on level or honors courses depending on experience and need.
  4. Design engaging lessons that challenge students and support a range of learners.
  5. Assess student learning and provide timely feedback.
  6. Collaborate closely with the math department and secondary faculty.
  7. Demonstrates mastery of the subject material.
  8. Plans creative, individualized instruction that challenges students to excel while nurturing their spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional development.
  9. Demonstrate subject expertise through standards-aligned instruction and accurate content delivery.
  10. Provides input and recommendations for administrative and managerial functions in the school.
  11. Follows established school policies, procedures and guidelines in a spirit of positive cooperation.
  12. Provide students with a safe, loving, and nurturing environment.
  13. Sets time aside for scheduling parent/student conferences to promote learning skills of the child.
  14. Maintains a personal appearance that is a role model of cleanliness, modesty, and good taste.
  15. Utilizes educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth and seeks the counsel of the administrator, colleagues, and parent and is teachable.
  16. Teaches classes as assigned and scheduled by the administrator.
  17. Prepares and submits weekly lesson plans for the administrator's review.
  18. Attends and participates in scheduled devotional, committee, and weekly faculty meetings.
  19. Follows the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, administration, staff, and Board.
  20. Represents the school in a favorable and professional manner to the constituency and general public.
  21. Maintain and uphold the religious standards of Faith Christian School to include the Lifestyle Statement, Staff Covenant and Statement of Faith.
  22. Responsible to disciple, instruct and actively pray for the students on our campus.
  23. Responsible to reinforce a Biblical Worldview in every workplace interaction with both students, staff and faculty.
  24. Other duties as assigned that are closely related to this position.


Qualifications:

  • Must possess and model a personal authentic relationship with Jesus Christ and be a member of a Bible believing church.
  • Must have strong content knowledge in secondary mathematics.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required. At least 3-5 years of previous teaching experience is preferred.
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with students.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established school policies and procedures, and the school mission and core values.
  • Uses acceptable English in written and oral communication. Speaks with clear articulation.
  • Excellent technology skills and the ability to learn new technology.
  • Evidence of personal commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Alignment with the mission and statement of faith of Grapevine Faith Christian School.


Work Schedule:

Approximately 177 Classroom instructional days.

Weekly staff meetings. (During school year)

Daily hours: Thirty (30) minutes before students arrive until Thirty (30) minutes after the students are dismissed for the day.

Attendance and participation in appropriate school events.

Additional staff development and in-service days.
