The Town of Plainville is looking for a dedicated Roadways Maintainer/Truck Driver to join our team. We're more than just a crew; we're a supportive team dedicated to serving the citizens of Plainville. We believe in working together to keep our town safe and beautiful. About the Role

As a key member of our Roadways Department, you'll perform a variety of essential tasks that directly benefit our community. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating our trucks for snow plowing and hauling debris.
  • Performing seasonal roadside and drainage maintenance.
  • Assisting with the construction and repair of town roads.
  • Leaf Collection

  • Contributing to vehicle maintenance.

This is an active, outdoor role where you'll work in varying weather conditions. Experience with paving, concrete, and heavy equipment operation is a plus.


Compensation & Benefits

This full-time position is represented by AFSCME Local 1303-56 with a 40-hour work week and opportunities for overtime. The starting rate of pay is $29.77 per hour.

  • A clean Motor Vehicle Record.
  • The ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen.
