Job description

The After School Program Associate works closely with the After School Programs Supervisor to help facilitate instruction and other classroom activities between the hours of 3-6 PM Monday-Friday. This position helps to foster a warm, positive, and nurturing classroom environment for the optimal learning of each student. This position reports to the After School Program Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the smooth operation of AS programs, and the safety of all students attending programs
  • Facilitates and guides students in the learning process as directed by the Supervisor
  • Coordinate daily educational and recreational program activities
  • Plan for special days, such as Family Days, Parent/Teacher Conference Days
  • Handle student incidents (i.e. medical, disciplinary and body fluids) adhering to protocol
  • Manage the check-in and check-out of students
  • Must keep an accurate record of daily dismissal procedures
  • Assists Supervisor in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom
  • Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information related to students

An Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development or a or a related educational field. At least two years of experience working in an elementary school classroom or a pre-school classroom.
