Job Overview
Chinese Instructor / After-School Group Leader

OwlQuest is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Chinese Instructor / Group Leader to work with elementary school students ages 4–11 in our after-school program.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and can make learning Chinese fun and engaging. The instructor will teach Chinese three days per week for approximately one hour per day and will also work as a Group Leader, assisting students with homework and supervising daily after-school activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach age-appropriate Chinese lessons to elementary students
  • Focus on basic conversation, vocabulary, speaking, listening, and cultural activities
  • Create engaging lessons using games, songs, activities, and other interactive methods
  • Adapt instruction for different ages and ability levels
  • Assist students with homework and academic activities
  • Supervise students and maintain a safe, positive environment
  • Assist with transitions, activities, and dismissal
  • Work collaboratively with other program staff

Qualifications:

  • Fluent or highly proficient in Mandarin Chinese
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Teaching, tutoring, childcare, or after-school experience is a plus
  • Patient, dependable, energetic, and comfortable managing groups of children
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
