DIRECTOR - CAMP INVENTION FUNDED
Program Dates:June 16, 2025 through June 20, 2025
Program Times: 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
WAGE: varies from $625 - $1,300 based upon camp enrollment numbers (min. enrollment required 35 participants). Includes one (1) complimentary base price registration for director's immediate child.
Parma City School District is partnering with the National Inventors Hall of Fame to provide Camp Invention , a unique, weeklong STEM enrichment program for children entering grades K-6 in our community, June 24, 2024 - June 28, 2024. We are looking for local educators to inspire future innovators in this exciting summer experience!
Camp Invention Directors and Instructors engage children through hands-on, inquiry-based activities that are part of an overall storyline and theme. Each day features inventor stories, step-by-step instructions, guiding questions, and discussion prompts.
Many educators have found that they can apply their experiences from Camp Invention to his/her classroom during the school year, such as facilitating project-based learning, practicing divergent and convergent thinking, incorporating open-ended instruction, and implementing tips for teams.
Camp Invention Directors and Instructors are:
  • Flexible, creative, and enthusiastic.
  • Passionate about engaging children.
  • Interested or experienced in student-led learning.

Instructors work with the local Camp Invention Director to:
  • Inspire campers by leading daily hands-on STEM activities
  • Promote the local program by distributing flyers and promotional items around the local and surrounding communities and being active on social media
  • Bring the excitement of innovation to children in our area

The Camp Invention Director role includes the following minimum expectations:
  • Serve as liaison between the National Inventors Hall of Fame and the district
  • Promote program during registration period
  • Recruiting and hiring staff and volunteers
  • Training and supervising of program team members
  • Coordinating site logistics, including student routines and safety
  • Any other duties as required for successful program implementation
