Auxiliary Programs After-School Associate (Part-Time)

Pace Academy is an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, with an enrollment of 1,150 students in Pre-First through 12th grade. Pace is seeking candidates to work part-time in our after-school programs, Knight Crew for Lower School and Late Knight for Middle School.

At Pace, we hire enthusiastic and energetic professionals dedicated to their crafts who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children. Pace is fully committed to a culturally diverse faculty and student body and actively seeks candidates from historically underrepresented populations.

After-school associates supervise lower school aged children between 1:30–6 p.m. in Knight Crew, and middle school aged children in a supervised study hall between 3:30–6 p.m. daily Monday - Friday according to the school year calendar (August through May).

The ideal candidate brings a strong sense of humor, initiative and flexibility, as well as exhibits good judgment and a love for engaging young minds. Enthusiasm for working with children, especially elementary-age students, is a critical quality. He/she/they should possess a wealth of patience, energy and creativity to hold the attention of the children.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engages and leads children through the daily flow of activities which include homework, computer, crafts, playground and snack time

  • Organizes and participates in games, reading, craft projects and similar activities

  • Respectfully handles conflicts and discipline in line with Pace values

  • Helps children develop habits of caring for own clothing and picking up and putting away materials and books

  • Greets parents each afternoon and provides positive feedback

  • Monitors homework time

  • Assists in cleaning activity areas

  • Available to occasionally stay past 6 p.m.

  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma required; Associate degree (A.A.) preferred.

  • Two to four years related experience and/or training desired.

  • Must be punctual, self-motivated, and committed to the work schedule.

  • Basic knowledge of first aid required.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds required.

  • Must be able to work on campus, in-person.

  • Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week as directed by the supervisor

Starting pay is between $15.00 and $18.00 per hour, depending on experience.
