Yanmar is looking for a technically skilled and customer-focused After-Sales Support Specialist to support our Industrial Engine customers and distributors. In this role, you’ll serve as the primary after-sales contact for key OEM and distributor partners, helping troubleshoot technical issues, evaluate warranty claims, and ensure customers receive exceptional support.

If you enjoy solving complex technical problems, working directly with customers, and collaborating with engineering and global teams, this could be a great fit.

  • Review and process warranty claims while ensuring compliance with company policies

  • Troubleshoot engine issues and support customers with diagnostics and repair guidance

  • Identify trends in warranty claims and product performance and share insights with internal teams

  • Provide technical training and guidance to customers on warranty processes and service procedures

  • Visit customer sites when needed to assist with troubleshooting, repairs, audits, or investigations

  • Partner with Sales, Engineering, and global teams in Japan to resolve technical issues and support continuous improvement

  • Support ECU/ECM programming and other diagnostic functions when required

  • Lead regular check-ins with customers to review issues, solutions, and action plans

What We're Looking For

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly with customers and internal teams

  • Comfortable working with diagnostic tools and service equipment

  • Ability to manage multiple issues and maintain strong customer relationships

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support customers (about 10% travel)

Technical Experience

Experience working with equipment such as:

  • Industrial diesel engines

  • Agricultural or construction equipment

  • Marine engines

  • Heavy-duty or automotive systems

Familiarity with diagnostic tools, CAN bus systems, or electronic engine controls is highly valued.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on technical or diagnostic experience in a service, dealer, or manufacturing environment

  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools; CRM experience such as Salesforce is a plus

  • Bilingual English/Japanese is a plus but not required

Why Join Yanmar

At Yanmar, you’ll work alongside a global team dedicated to innovation, reliability, and customer success. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with customers, solve real-world technical challenges, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our engine products.
