Description:

The Banquet Server/Bartender is responsible for providing food and beverage service to guests at large to mid-sized & small events such as weddings, corporate events, holiday parties, celebrations, religious events, sporting functions and other types of events. Duties can range from direct table service, buffet service, passed appetizers, and bar service. Breakdown and general cleaning will be involved as well. He or she will also be responsible for serving beverages such as cocktails, wine, and bottled beverages to guests during banquet events. Candidates must have a friendly demeanor, work well on a team, and be comfortable on their feet for several hours at a time.


*Open availability with weekend and evening availability required! Starting pay is $16/hour.

Essential Job Functions

  • Set-up banquet event & bar equipment for events according to the Banquet Event Order event details
  • Anticipate guestsโ€™ needs and exceed service expectations
  • Ensuring the comfort of guests through answering questions, taking orders, conveying special instructions to the kitchen and bar, and serving food and beverages in a positive and accommodating manner
  • Maintain professional appearance standards of the events
  • Greet guests that are being serviced at the food station or bar
  • Understand and communicate products and service-related query to guests when asked
  • Complete proper and timely set-up and execution of Banquet events
  • Ensure guest dietary needs are identified and delivered with assistance of the back of house
  • Ensure all alcoholic beverages are served and consumed responsibly according to Pennsylvania Liquor Laws and Banquet beverage controls
  • Collect payments from guests for specific events Bar Service through companies Point of Sale Register System
  • Assist with clearing table during and after meal service for empty beverage containers/glasses
  • Clean service space including tabletop, floors, and other exposed surfaces when necessary
  • Carry bus trays to the kitchen for washing
  • Maintain station cleanliness to maintain food safety and sanitation standards
  • Assist others with side work including, but not limited to cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be 19 years of age or older to serve
  • Must be 21 years of age or older to bartend
  • Dependable transportation to and from work
  • Language skills: Fluent knowledge of the English language; including the ability to read and interpret written information and speak and understand verbal communication
  • Ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the position with any reasonable accommodations as necessary
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • RAMP Training certification is a plus
  • Bartending or serving experience a plus
  • Experience serving covered and uncovered food trays
  • Highly dependable with a history of consistent attendance and punctuality
