  • Relocation assistance available.

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct research on the design, fabrication, and testing of advanced semiconductor devices.
  • Develop and apply cleanroom fabrication processes, including deposition, etching, lithography, and metrology.
  • Collaborate with AFRL engineers and scientists and with academic and industry partners to mature emerging electronic materials toward application-ready technologies.
  • Lead or contribute to peer-reviewed publications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, materials science, physics, or related discipline
  • Entry level, 0-5 years of professional experience post BS or MS.
  • Experience in cleanroom device fabrication using etch, deposition, lithography, and metrology capabilities
  • Ability to be self-motivated, work independently across multiple groups, and collaborate effectively with researchers from different technical backgrounds
  • Knowledge and understanding of lithography, etching, deposition, and related metrology.
  • Ability to pass a background check required for working at WPAFB and accessing their computer networks.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Background in compute or memory device electrical characterization
  • Broad expertise in materials characterization, device fabrication, and prototyping
  • Strong record of peer-reviewed publications demonstrating expertise in cleanroom microelectronics fabrication
