Aesthetic Rn Injector information

What is an aesthetic RN injector?

An Aesthetic RN Injector is a registered nurse who specializes in administering cosmetic injectables such as Botox, dermal fillers, and other non-surgical treatments to enhance or rejuvenate a patient's appearance. These professionals are trained in facial anatomy, injection techniques, and patient safety. They often work in medical spas, dermatology clinics, or plastic surgery offices, collaborating with physicians to provide aesthetic treatments. Their role also includes patient assessment, developing treatment plans, and educating clients about procedures and aftercare.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an aesthetic RN injector?

To thrive as an Aesthetic RN Injector, you need a registered nursing license, a solid understanding of facial anatomy, and specialized training or certification in cosmetic injectables like Botox and dermal fillers. Familiarity with injection techniques, patient management systems, and compliance with safety protocols is typically required. Outstanding communication, attention to detail, and a strong aesthetic sense help build trust and deliver desired results to clients. These skills ensure effective, safe treatments and foster client satisfaction in a competitive, image-focused field.

What are some common challenges faced by aesthetic RN injectors in their daily practice?

Aesthetic RN Injectors often encounter challenges such as managing patient expectations, staying updated with the latest injection techniques, and ensuring patient safety during procedures. Balancing a high level of precision while building rapport with clients requires excellent communication and technical skills. Additionally, injectors must adhere to strict protocols to minimize complications and often work closely with supervising physicians and other team members in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Job description

RENEW/Concierge RN
This position sits at our Shelby Township location
Company Overview
At DOCS Dermatology Group, we are not just one of the largest dermatology practices in the nation; we are a dedicated community passionate about skin health! With more than 200 providers across 20 practice brands and 100+ locations in 10 states, we've been transforming the lives of our patients for more than 40 years. Our mission is clear: to prioritize our patients with outstanding medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services, all delivered in a friendly, convenient, and compassionate environment.
Job Summary
The RENEW RN is a cornerstone of the patient experience in an elevated, concierge-style longevity practice. Working in close collaboration with the physician, physician Assistant, and Patient Coordinator, the RN guides patients through every stage of their 12-month journey: intake, assessment, diagnostics, procedural support, triage, and care coordination. This role is ideal for a nurse with experience in aesthetics, wellness, or hormone replacement therapy who is energized by a collaborative, team-based environment, brings a growth mindset, and wants to help build the future of regenerative aesthetics.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Experience & Intake
  • Conduct patient intake, including health history review, medication and supplement reconciliation, and documentation in the EMR.
  • Deliver a warm, white-glove patient experience consistent with RENEW's concierge standard at every touchpoint.
  • Lead recurring wellness visits, reinforcing each patient's personalized plan and tracking progress toward goals.
  • Clinical Assessments & Diagnostics
  • Obtain and document vital signs.
  • Perform body composition analysis (SECA) and grip strength testing.
  • Capture VISIA facial skin analysis imaging.
  • Perform phlebotomy with a high degree of proficiency; collect, label, and process specimens for standard and advanced functional lab panels.

Procedural Support
  • Prepare treatment rooms and assist with setup, reconstitution, and mixing of regenerative aesthetic products (e.g., Sculptra, hyperdilute Radiesse, PRP/PDGF) under physician direction.
  • Assist the physician and PA during procedures and support post-procedure patient care and education.
  • Maintain inventory, sterilization, and safety standards for all clinical supplies and equipment.
  • Triage & Care Coordination
  • Triage patient questions regarding hormone therapy, supplements, and peptides using clinical judgment and physician-approved protocols, escalating to the PA or physician when indicated.
  • Coordinate care across the patient journey: lab draws, follow-up visits, results review scheduling, and program milestones, ensuring every patient stays on track.
  • Provide patient education on protocols, pre- and post-procedure care, and lifestyle recommendations within the approved education library.
  • Partner with the patient coordinator and clinical team to continuously improve workflows and the overall patient experience.

Scope of Practice:
This role practices under physician supervision. The RN does not perform injections of PRP, fillers, or biostimulators; all injectable procedures are performed by the physician or physician Assistant. Triage and patient education are delivered per physician-approved protocols, with clear escalation pathways for clinical decision-making.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Active, unrestricted Michigan RN license. (required)
  • Current BLS certification. (required)
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen handling. (required)
  • Strong clinical documentation skills and comfort with EMR systems. (required)
  • Thorough understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy standards. (required)
  • Experience in aesthetics, medical spa, dermatology, wellness, functional medicine, or hormone replacement therapy. (preferred)
  • Familiarity with body composition analysis, skin imaging, or longevity-focused diagnostics. (preferred)
  • Experience in a concierge, membership-based, or cash-pay practice model. (preferred)

Physical Demands:
  • Standing or walking for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to periodically lift objects or equipment up to 35 lbs.
  • Moderate pushing, pulling, and reaching to prepare and turn over treatment rooms.
  • Ability to observe details at close range, hear normal conversation levels, and maintain hand dexterity.
