While most substitute work occurs during regular school hours and days, you can choose to accept half-day, full-day, or even multi-day assignments, depending on the district's needs. This flexibility makes the role ideal for those seeking part-time work or variable hours. To thrive as an Aesop Substitute, you need classroom management abilities, a general understanding of educational practices, and at least a high school diploma or associate's degree—some districts require a substitute teaching permit or certification.
