Veterinary Neurology Technician

Welcome to Animal Emergency & Specialty Center (AESC)! We are a 24/7 Emergency Care Veterinary Hospital with 7 different Specialties. The AESC Team is growing, and we are seeking motivated, positive and compassionate individuals to join our team. Our Nursing staff is essential and important to us, just as the care they provide to the pets and clients in our community. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Neurology Technician to join our fast-paced, state-of-the-art neurology department. Our dynamic team specializes in both neurology and neurosurgery and is equipped with advanced MRI and CT imaging technology. In this role, the Neurology Technician will be responsible for monitoring anesthesia during MRI procedures and neurosurgical cases. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with complex and challenging neurological conditions, and to deepen your understanding of brain function and neurological disease.

WE ARE OFFERING A $3,000 SIGNING BONUS FOR THIS ROLE!

$1,500 RELOCATION BONUS MAY APPLY FOR HIGHLY QUALIFIED REGISTERED TECHNICIANS RELOCATING WITHIN THE PARKER COLORADO AREA!

Compensation:

  • $25 - $35 hourly, based on experience
  • $$ SIGN ON BONUS!!
  • On Call Responsibilities- additional per case call-in fee Anticipated Schedule:
  • Full Time
  • Monday - Friday
  • 7:30am - 3:30pm

Essential Functions:

  • Technical skills: venipuncture, blood draw, placing IV catheter, lab sample collection
  • Admitting and discharging procedural and surgical cases.
  • Dispensing medications directed by veterinarian
  • Preparing estimates and collecting payment from clients.
  • Assisting doctor with outpatient appointments, consults and rechecks.
  • Anesthesia monitoring, endotracheal intubation, assisting the doctor with surgical cases, including scrubbing into surgery.
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment with a positive attitude
  • Surgical assisting: preparing and maintaining the surgical environment
  • Calculate drug dosages (IV, IM and SQ) of any pre-induction medications, and administering the same
  • Professional client communication

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience required in a surgical setting
  • Registered Veterinary Technician, in Colorado, or the ability to become registered upon hire.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading ) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience in a Specialty Hospital
  • Experience with performing anesthesia for MRI or CT scans
  • Experience with more critical anesthesia
  • Ability to multitask and anticipate the department's needs.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Experience using Medical Record and Whiteboard programs in a veterinary setting.
