Job Description
The role of the Oncology Technician is to support our Oncologist in delivering precise, compassionate, and efficient patient care. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring seamless patient flow while performing a wide range of advanced clinical duties, including radiographs, laboratory diagnostics, and the safe administration of chemotherapy.
This position calls for a detail-oriented professional with strong technical skills and a deep commitment to empathetic client communication-whether in person, over the phone, or electronically. You will also be responsible for maintaining thorough, accurate, and timely medical records within the hospital's PIMS and Whiteboard systems, helping ensure the highest standards of continuity and quality of care.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the doctors schedule to align with patient care needs.
  • Timely, thorough and accurate patient care client interactions including collecting history for appointments and medication management and refills.
  • Ensuring a smooth and excellent client experience through communication, schedule management, and answering questions/concerns.
  • Perform lab work, radiographs, and sample submissions
  • Perform general anesthesia and sedation monitoring for procedures
  • Appropriately handle chemotherapy medications per hospital standards
  • Proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture skills
  • Administer chemotherapy treatments as directed by Oncologist
  • Maintains hospital cleanliness by performing general cleaning duties: Laundry, sweeping, mopping, etc.
  • Other duties as needed

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • At least ONE YEAR of veterinary technician experience is REQUIRED in a surgical setting
  • Registered Veterinary Technician, in Colorado, or the ability to become registered upon hire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience in a Emergency or Specialty Hospital
  • Experience with performing anesthesia
  • Ability to multitask and anticipate the department's needs.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Experience using Medical Record and Whiteboard programs in a veterinary setting.
