Job description

Aerospace Quality Control Supervisor

Anaheim / Fullerton Area | Full-Time | 1st & 2nd Shift Available | $35–$40/hr DOE

ABC Sheet Metal / Steeldyne is a growing AS9100D-certified aerospace manufacturer producing precision sheet metal, machined, welded, and fabricated assemblies for aerospace and defense customers.

We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Control Supervisor to lead and support inspection activities in a hands-on aerospace manufacturing environment. This is a working supervisor role responsible for daily inspection oversight, hands-on part inspection, AS9102 First Article Inspection, supplier quality support, and maintaining AS9100D quality standards.

The ideal candidate has strong aerospace inspection experience, 5+ years of supervisory or lead inspection experience, strong GD&T knowledge, and direct experience using portable CMM arms such as FARO, Hexagon, or ROMER Arm systems.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support daily inspection activities for aerospace sheet metal, machined, welded, and fabricated components.
  • Perform hands-on receiving, in-process, first article, and final inspections.
  • Complete and review AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports, including FAIR documentation and Forms 1, 2, and 3.
  • Use portable CMM arm equipment such as FARO Arm, Hexagon Arm, ROMER Arm, or similar systems.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, customer specifications, and aerospace quality requirements.
  • Support AS9100D quality system requirements, audits, inspection records, and traceability documentation.
  • Assist with supplier source inspections, customer quality requirements, NCRs, MRB activity, root cause, and corrective actions.
  • Work with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality issues.
  • Train, guide, and support inspection personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory, lead inspector, or quality leadership experience.
  • Aerospace manufacturing inspection experience required.
  • Strong hands-on inspection experience with sheet metal, machined, welded, and fabricated metal parts.
  • Strong GD&T and blueprint reading skills.
  • Experience with AS9102 FAI / FAIR documentation.
  • Direct hands-on experience with FARO, Hexagon, ROMER Arm, or similar portable CMM equipment.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 / AS9100D quality system requirements.
  • Proficient with standard inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, height gages, thread gages, bore gages, indicators, and surface plate equipment.
  • Strong communication, documentation, organization, and leadership skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Verisurf software experience.
  • CMM programming or portable CMM inspection routine experience.
  • Welding, fabrication, and aerospace sheet metal inspection experience.
  • Supplier source inspection experience.
  • NCR, MRB, CAPA, root cause, and corrective action experience.
  • AS9100 internal audit experience.
